Saga Suni
At Home with Friends
Visual artist Saga Suni (b. 1998) lives and works in Helsinki. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Helsinki in 2025 and has continued her studies towards a Master of Fine Arts degree in the printmaking programme. Suni primarily works with drawing and relief printmaking techniques. Bright, delicate colour palettes and an exploration of the various possibilities of paper play a central role in her practice.
The idea of home can sometimes be more than a physical location or a private space. Home can be a state of mind, a shared experience that takes shape through being together with others. The company and presence of a friend can evoke a sense of home.
In At Home with Friends, Saga Suni’s first solo exhibition, the woodcuts on display explore the sense of homeliness that emerges from friendship, the pleasure of spending time together, and the sharing of everyday life. Created using the reduction woodcut technique, the works capture moments spent in one another’s company, in which home is present both as a state of mind and as a place to be together.
